Welcome to SolaraLife!

Welcome to the first edition of Solara Life, a new on-line magazine highlighting the best of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Arts and culture, limitless outdoor recreation, fine food and wine, seasonal events, family activities, local history, interesting people, great shopping and regional highlights — the list of what's to come in future issues is long and varied. We’re planning a new edition every month, with stories and features that are sure to inspire your next holiday in the shining mountains of Canada.
As editor of Solara Life, I'd like to welcome you to our first edition, and introduce myself. Like many others I know, I came to Canmore to enjoy a lifestyle that is like no other I could imagine. My home is nestled close to mountain trails for walking and mountain biking, my view is of the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountains in all directions, and my commute is three minutes with an optional pit-stop at one of Canmore's many fine coffee bars for a steaming hot latté to go.
The friendliness of locals — from people you'll meet on the street, to those who serve you in restaurants and shops — is another reason I love making my home here.
Because of this warm and open attitude, Canmore is known as a community that opens it arms to visitors, some who come for a few nights, others who become 'part-timers' and visit every weekend from one of Alberta's nearby cities.

Our goal at Solara Life is to provide you, our visitors and guests, with the essential ingredients to enjoying your time in the Canadian Rockies. We write from the town of Canmore, but explore all that is offered in what is known as the Bow Valley region. Banff National Park and the town of Banff are just minutes away, and will be the subject of many stories. We’ll also visit the stunning hamlet of Lake Louise in Banff National Park, and beautiful Kananaskis Country, a 4,000-square-kilometre natural area literally on the doorstep of Canmore.
I encourage your feedback on everything you'll find in Solara Life, including ideas you'd like us to explore in future editions.
Solara Life is brought to you by Solara Mountain Resort in beautiful Canmore, and offered with the hope that we shall soon welcome you during your visit here.
